My Windows Player 9 series suddenly plays music too fast.
I clicked on "View" then "Enhancements" then "Play Speed
Settings." The player will not stay at the setting I
want to keep it on. Everything plays very fast, from my
mp3's to other web page music to my midis. How do I
correct this problem?

If all else fails.....I would uninstall Media Player 9,
then download a new copy.

Please note that uninstalling the player previous to reinstalling it is
actually counterproductive. When I wrote the installer, I kept in mind that
people like to reinstall a product as a means to fix it. So a reinstall of
the player over the top of itself actually activates special helpful
trouble-shooting logic that is only possible to access in that
reinstalling-the-player-on-top-of-itself mode. It is not accessible if you
uninstall-then-reinstall, so please don't steer people that way. :)

I know a lot of people propagate the "uninstall first" advice, but it's
simply not the right way to go with WMP. :)

And now you know something a lot of other people don't know. :)

And regardless - my sincere appreciation for your taking the time out to
help other people like this. :)

Thank you for your prompt reply. That seems to help. So
far the speed is 'normal' at least for my taste.
