It's actually quite easy. The file must have the .wav
extension, and remember where the file is (i.e. its
directory) Go to the sound settings in the control panel
and select the "change the sound scheme" option (XP Home
edition) and then find the "Windows Logon" event in the
list. At the bottom of the window, click the "browse"
button and find the sound. This process can be used to
modify the sound for any event in Windows!
