Seeking guidance on how one would convert Itunes music to MP3 within windows
XP Pro. There are several free downloads all of which I tend to avoid. If
no such facility exists within windows a safe recommendation would be
appreciated.

I have used the commercial versions NCH audio software for
many years. Excellent stuff. Have a look at "Switch" here:

I don't know whether the free version can handle iTunes but
the paid version probably can.

If at all doubtful about a "free" download, then use iTunes itself and
uninstall it afterwards (as I did once)
