multiple workbooks

I would like to see multiple workbooks individually at the
bottom of the screen. I used to be able to see this but
now I just have an Excel icon at the bottom, along with
the other programs that are running (i.e., Word). Is there
a way to be able to see all open workbooks without opening
another instance of Excel? As it is now, I have to toggle
between books via Ctrl-Tab. When all the workbooks are
visible I was able to scroll via Alt-Tab. Thanks.

Tools>Options>View
Change the
Windows in Taskbar

Try Tools; Options. On the View tab, check the Windows in
taskbar box.
