When I attempt to open a two excel files. Excel opens the
workbooks in the same excel window as opposed to in their
own separate windows. I have to minimize one workbook to
see the other, I cant have them open simultaneously

Hi Paul

Tools>Options
Windows in Taskbar

You can click in the taskbar the workbook you want

Or a shortcut to switch between workbooks
Ctrl-F6 or Ctrl-Shift-F6

If you want to see both
Try Window>Arrange in the Menu bar

I want to do the opposite I only want one workbook per

Change this setting like you want Paul

Tools>Options
Windows in Taskbar

It is not like in Word that you can close with the X and only close the
active document.
Excel is not working like that

so can I make it open in two separate windows, thats how
my user wants it

However even when they open in two separate windows, they
are really in the same instance of Excel so if you ever
click the top X, it will close all of them.
