I just found yesterday that my Sony laptop now detects 2 wireless
connections, I believe the other one is probably new from my neighbor.
The problem is that even only my own connection is in the preferred
list, my laptop can not connect to the internet. It shows, at the
start up of my computer, a message "One or more wireless networks are
available. To see a list of avalable networks, click here". So I
clicked and followed the instruction to select and connect to my own
network, but the same above message showed up in the end. Please
advise.

Zander,

Is your router / WAP set to broadcast the SSID?

Have you disabled "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks"?
