Don't know if I am in the right spot.

I would like to have 10-15 users logging into the same
box and would like to keep the profiles local and as
simple as possible. Access to a couple of network
drives, MS Outlook 2000 profile for each user and MS
Office 2000 and a couple of other apps for all users.

Want this to be as easy as possible for the Users logging
in and as easy to administer as possible.

Don't want to use roaming profiles.

Windows NT 4.0 domain.

Any thoughts would be appreciated or a link to a technote
of some kind that would show some guidelines would be
great.

Thanks.
Jim

Hi Jim. You might want to post in the win2000.setup_deployment newsgroup.
One solution may be to create a default profile that will be the base
profile for each user. If you want to limit their changes to their profile,
you could create user, log on as them, log back on as admin and change ntfs
permissions on their desktop folder to be reade/list/execute for the user
making sure that they are not owner of that folder. You can also use Group
Policy/user configuration/administrative templates/etc to make changes on a
local computer via gpedit.msc that will affect all users on the computer
including administrators. --- Steve
