multiple .tmps

Hello:
When editing a word doc on my local, and the file is open, there are
multiple .tmps all lining up like little soldiers on my desktop. What is
causing this?

It's normal behavior, Germaine. If you don't want to see them, turn off
viewing of hidden and system files. But as long as they go away when you
close Word, it's perfectly normal.
