Multiple taskbar areas problem in Windows XP...

Hello!

I have a Windows XP Media Center SP1 (all updates) system. Its task bar
seem to have two toolbar areas for running programs (not system tray). I
can't seem to get rid of one (no close toolbar option). System tray icon
area and IME (for asian characters like Chinese) sections were fine. I
tried closing QuickLaunch, switching Start Menu setup, making task bar
bigger/smaller, etc. No help.

Any ideas what's the problem and how to fix it? Thank you in advance. :)

I'm just trying to help!' and they can't really get mad at you." --R.M.

It would be better if you post to a mediacenter newsgroup.

OK. I don't think it is related to Media Center, but I will try your
suggestion.
