Having CPU use problems with my machine - slow-downs / hangs - Notice 7
versions of svchost's running under taskmanager. Some are taking a fair
chunk of memory.

Looked at other posts - Can't get "tasklist" at a command prompt - should
that be taskmgr?

Anyways - Is 7 instances of svchost.exe normal???

Thanks,

Don,

7 is possible - I have 6 myself. Look at all of them and make sure there's not
one called "svch0st" for instance.

The thing you want is called Task Manager, which can be started as "taskmgr".
Or you might want to try Process Explorer (free) from
<http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml>, which is way better.
