Multiple msgs when opening a database

I have a database that was setup by someone else... when opening the database
which has a main swichboard, I get seven mgs saying that you to not have
exclusive access to the database at this time and if you proceed to make
changes you may not be able to safe them later. I know that other people also
use this database and these msg do not come when they are not using the
database.
Please help me stop those mgs from coming up.

I've been complaining about these multiple prompts for years.
Honestly-- some spreadsheet dork or C++ dork came to this decision--
it obviously wasn't someone that used Access on a daily basis.

Basically- Excel Macro viruses are about 10,000 times more prevalent
than Access viruses.
and Excel doesn't prompt you like this-- for dangerous functions
(multiple times).

Why should Access be strangled by multiple prompts like this? It is
obviously -LESS-DANGEROUS-
I personally am outraged by this behaivor.

I'd probably would be still working at MS if it wasn't for this bug.

I believe that you can just set your Tools, Macro, Security to _LOW_
and it won't double-prompt you any longer.

I don't know why you're getting this message 7 times. Usually it's only
once.

The first thing to look for is network rights. Every user MUST have CREATE
rights to the *directory* (folder) where the database resides (in other
words, they need rights to create a file in that directory/folder). If they
don't, the first person who opens it won't be able to create the LDB file
and will get exclusive access. You'll have to talk to your network
administrator about this. It's nothing you can fix in Access.

This might be just a coincidence but the number of forms on the switchboard
is also seven... I'm thinking that it's trying to open then? In a design view?
probably just a coincidence anyways. What do you think?

I also found out that if I'm the first one to open this database that it
locks it up and no one else can open it.
Please help
