Multiple Monitor Settings

Hello

I am using Vista business on my Dell Latitude D820 with a second monitor.

I generally work with a second monitor setup to extend my desktop to the
left.

When ever I boot up the second monitor is on the right side in the "Display
Settings" dialog. I can drag it to the left so it matches my setup, but the
change does not stick.

Is there a way to change the default location of a second monitor from the
right to the left so I don't have to adjust this every time I reboot.

Thanks

Terry,

I am having the same problem. I am using an HP Pavilion dv6000 with a
second monitor. When I turn the computer on my monitors are reversed (my
laptop screen becomes my #2 while my side monitor becomes my #1). I reverse
this every time I turn the computer on but the change doesn't stay.

Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks.

You are very lucky! After connecting to external display on my laptop,
display is transferred to external display and the LCD display is turned
off. Checking the Device Manager, the LCD display is gone. Need to
disconnect, then sleep or hibernate and resume. Then viola! My LCD display
is back! Now if I'm lucky, connect to external display again and everything
works fine until system shut down.

Nicholas,

Have you tried Function F4? On my laptop there is an icon on that key that
looks like a monitor. This function allows me to connect my laptop to an
external projector where I can show my screen on the projector, extend my
screen to the projector, or hide my computer screen so I only see the
projector.

Now that you mention this idea, I am beginning to wonder if that is my
problem. I didn't start having this problem until I connected to a
projector. Maybe I need to reset my display settings.
