Multiple Exchange Servers

Those of us that are required to connect to 2 Exchange Servers would LOVE to
Outlook have the ability to connect to multiple servers simultaneously.
Supporting 2 separate calendars, inboxes, etc. is a nightmare! Thx

Use IMAP (and the Insight Connector, if you need the special folders)

You could open one in Outlook, and one in OWA. But you still have to
"support" both mailboxes/contents therein -

Thx Diane. Do you have Outlook setup with 2 mail accounts, and if so, is the
first an Exchange client and the second and IMAP client, and does the
Exchange server being accessed by the IMAP need to be configured to
communicate with an IMAP client?

Thx Diane.

I'm not Dianne, but I might be able to answer.
Do you have Outlook setup with 2 mail accounts, and if
so, is the first an Exchange client and the second and IMAP client,

I can do this with one Exchange server: set up one account that uses the
normal MAPI protocols and another account that uses IMAP to connect tot he
same Exchange server. Outlook doesn't know whether or not it's the same
server and doesn't care, so it mimics your situation.
and does the Exchange server being accessed by the IMAP need to be
configured to communicate with an IMAP client?

Yes, but I don't know if that's a default configuration or not. You can
also access an Exchange server via POP, if it's enabled. A third
alternative is to use Outlook Web Access to the second Exchange server.
These options can be discussed in the Exchage newsgroup.

Bill & Diane,
Thx for your input. The IMAP client to my 2nd Exchange servers is working
on my Outlook session, but it only gives me an Inbox (no Outbox, Sent Mail,
etc.). Also, are there any options for the calendar, contacts, etc. on that
server? Having the Inbox is good, but best case scenario would be all of the
above. Thx

You should be able to subscribe the other folders- but without the insight
connector you will not be able to use the special folders, only mail and
public folders. (Right click on the top level imap folder and choose Folder
list.)
