Multiple e-mail accounts

Jose

Hi.

I want to use Outlook 2003 to receive two or three email
accounts and store emails to their respective data file.

For instance, I have a corporate account (Exchange), a
personal account (POP3) and Hotmail. I want to be able to
check those three accounts with the same Outlook instance
but emails should go to the appropriate data file. What I
would like to have is something like this:

Exchange folder
+-- Inbox
+-- Outbox
+-- Sent items
+-- Trash
Personal email
+-- Inbox
+-- Outbox
+-- Sent items
+-- Trash
Hotmail
+-- Inbox
+-- Outbox
+-- Sent items
+-- Trash

Is this feasible?

Thx.

I use Outlook 2003, and my Outlook looks pretty much like you're describing.

In Outlook, go to Tools the E-mail accounts.

It will bring up a dialog, and tell it that you want to add an e-mail
account. When you hit next, you'll see a page asking what type of account to
use.

In my case, I told it that I wanted a hotmail account, entered my personal
e-mail address and password, and now in Outlook I see:

+ Mailbox - Dante Gagne (My work address)
+ Hotmail

And each of those has their own Inbox, Deleted Items, organizational
folders, etc... There's a value on the add account page for POP3 servers, so
although I haven't tried that myself, I expect that it would work along the
same lines.

Hope that helps,

Thanks Dante,

That's the problem, if you add a POP3 account, all incoming emails will go
to either your Exchange account folder or POP3 account data file. I want
them to go to their corresponding folder/data file... maybe using rules,
but...

You would either have to use rules to move the messages or you would have to
create separate profiles for each e-mail account...and the 2nd method is a
pain because you have to close Outlook to switch between profiles.
