Multiple Complete PC Backups

I want to make multiple Complete PC Backups as I progress in setting up a
machine. The Vista version of this only allows one copy as far as I can
see. The same seems to be true for IBM's Rescue and Restore program.

Would Acronis True Image 11 allow me to make multiple copies of my image
spaced in time on an external hard drive? Other recommendations? TIA

What's your source of information of this?

If you have adequate media space, multiple "Complete PC Backups" are
definitely allowed.

I think he is referring to multiple backups of the same computer, not
multiple computer complete PC backups.

I use DriveImage XML to backup my C drive.
It's simple and free.
You can make as many backups as you want.

Perhaps I mis-worded my response.

My intent is to indicate that multiple "Complete PC Backups" of one/same
computer is allowed if space on media permits.

I've not seen any caveats of this in MS documentation; additionally, I
would like to know where OP came by his information that this may be an
issue.

I have a 250 GB USB HD that I tried to do two different Complete PC Backups
and the second one overwrote the first one. That is, there was only the
latest backup on the drive. I had assumed it would not overwrite the first
one and simply make another one. Later, I could not find any way to make
seperate Complete PC Backups for the same machine.

I have a 160 GB USB HD and I have had 3 complete BU's, each having
incremental BU's. I normally have 2 complete BU's with each having
incremental.
