multiple cell sections with one click for one cell

How do i stop the multi-cell selection when I click one cell. how did it
start and why would it be necessary when I can not control how many cells IT
selects...sometimes two cells many times its 5...enough already...so much
time is wasted.
 
Try going to the CONTROL PANEL and select MOUSE. If necessary click the
BUTTONS tab and verify that there isn't a check in the TURN ON CLICKLOCK
checkbox.
