Hello,
I'd like to do an analysis that is called "concept mapping" (Trochim,
1989) that includes the two following statistical analysis :
Multidimensional scaling (MDS) and cluster analysis (Ward's algorithm).
I can easily do the analysis with SPSS.
MDS gives x and y coordinates in a 2 dimensional space. So, I can easily
represent the points with a scatterplot (Excel 2003).
But, I also need to represent the points (XY Chart labeler
http://www.appspro.com/Utilities/ChartLabeler.htm displays the items
number) grouped according to the results of the cluster analysis. This
analysis indicates which are the points that go together.
I would like to superpose a categorical structure over the scatterplot.
Because I am not very good in english, I've plotted an example :

The column with the label "together ? | ensemble ?", in yellow, displays
the results ot the cluster analysis. I need to plot polygons that group
the points that go together (e.g. the 1, the 2, the 3, the 4).
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Regards,
Michael
