multi value look up column

Can I easily change a look up column to a multi-valued look up column? If I
can what happens to the previous data that I have entered into this column.
Also I am having trouble with the edit list form. I think I have all the
properties set correctly, but when I right click the look up field I do not
see the edit list items available. I have checked and I do have the
AllowValueEditLists set to yes.

I wouldn't use multi-valued fields. Just because someone offers it
does not mean it's a good idea. I would create a child table and do
it the right way (according to normalization rules). I spent six
months sorting out non-normalized data, and it was a nightmare. Save
yourself future trouble and do it right from the beginning.
