Multi value fields

eWhile I think the multivalue fields available in Access 2007 would help me,
I am still using version 2003.

My problem is that I have a database of associate experience. Under that I
have several sub-tables for experience, papers written, special training,
etc. It was easy to set up a combo box to enter the different subjects in
each sub-table and link them to the main table. However, I also want to
search across all of the data. For example, I want to see who has experience
y or done a paper on x. I used the search form set up by Allen Browne and it
works well, however, since all the subtables are linked to the main table, I
get all of the multiples in the printout. How can I serach across these
subtables and control the output. The values in the report are set to not
print duplicates, but I still get each combination.

Then correct the error in your report's recordsource, or use the Sorting and
Grouping appropriately. A Report with multiple Subreports is another possible
option.

Multivalue fields may seem tempting but they are VERY limited, confusing, and
will probably just get you in trouble.
