multi user screen

How do I keep XP from reverting to the multi user sign on screen after long
periods of inactivity? I have a TV card and like to record shows. When I
set the program to record a show it does not work if the computer is not in
my identity.

Uhh...Kelly...? You actually meant to point "On resume, password protect."
If you use hibernation or standby, turn the settings for it. It's below the
Screen Saver tab says "Power". Select "Never" for everything except Turn off
monitor. You would not want to have a ghost in your monitor.

For your case, sirjohn, i would recommend to turn all power settings to
Never except for Turn off monitor. You would definitely not want to see a
ghost in your screen. Instead, try either Screen Saver password protection or
lock computer. Locking computer would be very lazy, which you just need to
press Windows Key + L, but it would be best for your security.

Oh, i'm sorry Kelly, i misunderstood the REAL problem.
i just found out that the setting for Screen Saver varies with the User
Account.
If you check "Use the Welcome Screen" AND "Use Fast User Switching",
the Screen Saver has an option "On resume, display Welcome Screen",
but if you check "Use the Welcome Screen" BUT NOT "Use Fast User Switching",
the Screen Saver has an option "On resume, password protect".

You can set these options from Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts ->
[Click] "Change the way the users log on or off"
