Multi-User Scans

I have read multiple times in this forum that MSAS does
not support multi-user enabled computers. Can you please
elaborate on what you mean.

I installed MSAS on a test machine with 2 User Accounts.
One is a Administrator Account, and one a Limitted
Account. From the Administrator account, under "Scan
Settings"-"Select Drives/Folders"-"C Drive"-"Documents
and Settings", I see both of these accounts available to
select. If I have a check mark in both of the acconts, it
appears to scan both accounts with no problem.

I haven't tried to do the scan from the limitted account
yet, but as the Administrator doing the scans, I see no
reason why I would do the scan from the Limitted Account
anyway when I can scan all the accounts from the
Administrator Account.

So, what do you all mean when you say that "Multi-User"
is not supported until next release?

It is not supported in this beta 1 release of MSAS at this time:

Steve Dodson's reason:
You have a limited user account running the application looking for spyware
on all files and folders. This includes the administrator account which
limited users may not be able to access. So we have to approach this
carefully in order to remove the spyware from all locations, but also
preserve file and folder permissions and access.

In short, we are addressing this for a future release, but it involves some
major coding and testing.

Open MWAS, go to Options--->Settings, and then to Real Time Protection for
Autostart; and on to General to have MWAS active, but hidden on the System
Tray.

I'm still not sure what you mean here. Are you saying
this is only a problem when trying to run a full system
scan from a "Limitted Account"?

My question is:

If I am doing my full system scans only from
the "Administrators Account", and I have the other user
accounts selected in the "Scan Settings" area, will MSAS
scan my entire system including the other "User Acounts"?

Thanks

Its best to say that Multiple and Limited account scanning is not supported
in the beta 1 release of Microsoft AntiSpyware, it is being worked on for
beta 2.

i think it means when you use Microsoft Antispyware to
scan on administrator account it doesn't scan all the
user account that you have only the administrator account
is being scan.
