I have a report that is sorted by fund number and sub totals for each field
with in the funds. Now I have a two-part question. I have sub funds field
with in the fund sort that I want to complete sub totals. How would I do
this? I’m thinking it some sort of select statement, just not quite sure.
You should also know that the sub fund is with in an account number first 3
digits out of 9 determines the sub fund (002640876). Also, I don’t sub
totals for all sub funds within my fund sort only on one particular fund
group. Pease help. Very tricky and I’m new to the Access world.

Renetta,

Comments below.
I have a report that is sorted by fund number

I understand this part.

and sub totals for each field

What are the sub-totals for each column based on? What are the
columns that are being sub-totalled? (It can't be "each column",
because a fund number would not be something that could be totaled or
sub-totaled.)

with in the funds. Now I have a two-part question. I have sub funds field
with in the fund sort

A sub-funds column "inside" the "fund sort"? So, the sort mentioned
above is multi-column, then? What are the other columns in the sort?

that I want to complete sub totals.

So, you want to use the sub-funds columns to define how the sub-totals
are generated?

But I though the sub-totals were already generated for each column
(other than the fund number, and I suppose the sub-fund number)?
Wouldn't it already be the sub-fund column defining the existing
sub-totals?

How would I do this?

I apologize that I am not able to understand the schema of the table
or tables in question, the data inside of them, or the appearance of
the results that you wish to produce.

I’m thinking it some sort of select statement, just not quite sure.
You should also know that the sub fund is with in an account number first 3
digits out of 9 determines the sub fund (002640876).

How many columns make up this account/fund number?

Sincerely,

Chris O.
