'MSysAccounts'

Craig

I'm converting a Access97 database to Access 2000. The
file containing all my users and groups is system.mda.
After I convert the database and point the shortcut to
this system.mda file when I try to view my groups and
user's I get the following message.
Record(s) cannott be read; no read permission
on 'MSysAccounts'.
I tried renaming the file from system.mda to system.mdw
and this is what the properties for my shortcut looks
like. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office\msaccess.exe" /wrkgrp x:\system.mda
x:\fleet.mdb

The fact that you have a mda suggests that this database was created in
version 2.0. Renaming the file to mdw won't solve the problem.

You should recreate the mdw in 2000 (assuming you have the original
names/PIDs etc.). If you don't, I'd suggest you unsecure the 97 database,
convert to 2000 and resecure it.

You may find this utility useful in saving the permissions:
