MSXML3.dll

HELP -- like all good messages start. I have a problem
with the MSXML3.DLL file on one of my servers.

The file is version 8.30.9926.0 It has a date of
Thursday, August 29, 2002, 7:14:40 AM. This file was
installed last night by the latest version of IE from the
web site (6.0 SP1)

I had to replace a file with the same Exact version info,
same size but an October 2003 date. I have found atleast
5 different creation dates on 5 different computers all
with the EXCAT same version number. If this file is
controlled by MS, as it is part of IE; WTFO -- how is
this possible -- you must version it every time you
compile it!!!! The file borke a piece of software called
Mail marshal from NetIQ -- any ideas? putting the old
file back fixed it. I have no idea how this file was
updated on the server or when... What version/dates are
you running

Thanks for any insight/feedback

That looks old. Why don't you update the whole XML parser package?
(Separate download from MSDN or Downloads site.)

Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4)

FWIW I have (on XPsp1)

File Version: 8.40.9419.0
Description: MSXML 3.0 SP 4
2002-12-19 13:06 1,129,472 msxml3.dll
