I upgraded to service pack 2 and since then I keep getting messages that say
'program'.exe unable to locate file. In the message it says msvcrt40.dll not
found try reinstalling program. I get this message when I start up my
computer and when I try to visit certain websites- hotmail for one. I did a
search of the msvcrt40.dll on the help page and the problems listed all deal
with older versions of windows. If anyone can help me I would be very
thankful!!!

You need XPSP2 CD.XP SP2 included an updated version of
msvcrt40.dll.copy it from \Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386
The file should be installed in your \Windows\system32 folder.
