File names are *not* case sensitive under Windows. What is the exact error
message and what is the name of that program? Is the file "msvcr71.dll"
located in the %windir%\System32 folder?

Hi well the error is the application failed to start because msvcr71.dll
wasn't found. The application i'm trying to run is sprite explorer and the
files are in c drive program flies regards graham

Since you can see the file "msvcr71.dll" somewhere on your drive, copy
that file into the %windir%\System32 folder (eg. C:\Windows\System32)
and try again to start that application causing the error message.

Have you updated Java Runtime Environment prior to this error ?
Every Java Based program has its MSVCR71.dll file in its program directory.
this error occurs in 2 situations.
1. when u are using a java based program and u start updating java runtime
environment, it can only update the closed programs MSVCR71.dll file, but the
one u are currently running wont be updated with the new java engine. so,
problem there.
2. when the computer is running a program and ur java console is on. All
in a sudden ur power shuts down.

Solution:
If you face this situation, the only and best way to fix it is, try
reinstalling the program itself. like MSN has this issue, Azureus does too,
never the less Internet Explorer. Just go and reinstall the program, not the
jre.

have fun with the virus free PC's.
