How can I know which is the latest version of an MS file.
My ZoneAlarm is warning me of mstask.exe as having
changed. I'm sure it is possible to have occurred through
one of the MS updates... but how can I know that it
changed as a result of an update versus a planted trojan?
thanks,
bruce

Search your computer and see if it is in more than one place, such as in a Service
Pack files folder. Compare the two as far as size and date and that should be a good
indication that it is a safe file. Of course you should be doing weekly full system
virus scans with the latest definitions downloaded from your vendor as a
precautionary measure. --- Steve
