For some reason unknown to myself when i boot up Windows XP I get a message
box that tells me to Please Wait while Windows configures MSRdist and then
another box opens called Setup and tells me that This MSI must be launched
through setup. I have no idea where this came from or what it means, If I OK
three times then it will go away until the next boot up. How can i get rid
of it?
Thanks

Hi Charlie,
Do a search on your system for MSRdist.msi
Make sure you search in system and hidden directories.
Delete the file (or optionally rename the file's extention to .old).
Run your favorite registration cleaner. I use TweakNow RegCleaner.
Reboot. Problem gone!

Have a nice day! :)

Thanks for that Black Wolf, I will have a play tomorrow as it is getting late
in the UK here and let you know how it goes.

HI Black Wolf
I have done a search for MSRdist.msi and even looking in the hidden files
and folders it found nothing so I did a search on MSRdist and it found
nothing. Oh dear! Now what?

Further to my last post I have noticed that the full message is MSRedist I
have missed the e out! No specs. Having inserted the e it now comes up with
loads of MSRedist but no MSRedist.msi. The search brings up a MSRedist folder
with loads of dll files inside but no msi. Help?
