PA Bear .. None of these solutions make any difference. When I try to
Register the Wups2.dll file in Windows it fails. When I download and
try
to
nstalll AgentWindows using /wuforce it returns an 0x8024d007 error. As
per
my previous post I have also tried Dial-A-Fix without success.
I suspect this is all related to the windows repair .. If you have any
other
suggestions, pls post .. thx.

Now that we know the full story...
Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery
installs. --

Thanks for the info.. I actually had to do a repair on my Windows
install
using "chkdsk /r" ... I wonder if it is the cause of the problem as I
wasn't having any problems before. I have run Counterspy v2 and
McAfee
and the pc is clean.

Tried to fix a problem with Windows Update. Changed The WU files to

and got the error on exiting. Still having a problem as wuaueng.dll
won't

an 0x8024d007 error.
Not sure if the mspatcha.dll error is related or maybe the cause of
the
problem.
Any ideas would be welcomed.

Why were you in Safe Mode to begin with?

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how I could fix.
I'm running WIN XP Home on a Dell XPS Gen4. I had to run chkdsk
\r
a
few
weeks back to correct a problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
