mspatcha.dll is not a valid window image

S

Sailorman

I'm getting the following error message when I exit Windows in Safe Mode:
"mspatcha.dll is not a valid window image. Please check this against your
installation diskette".

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how I could fix.

I'm running WIN XP Home on a Dell XPS Gen4. I had to run chkdsk \r a few
weeks back to correct a problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

S

Sailorman

Tried to fix a problem with Windows Update. Changed The WU files to old, and
got the error on exiting. Still having a problem as wuaueng.dll won't
register. Have tried dial-a-fix and reinstalling WU Agent and still getting
an 0x8024d007 error.

Not sure if the mspatcha.dll error is related or maybe the cause of the
problem.

Any ideas would be welcomed.

PA Bear .. None of these solutions make any difference. When I try to
Register the Wups2.dll file in Windows it fails. When I download and try to

my previous post I have also tried Dial-A-Fix without success.

I suspect this is all related to the windows repair .. If you have any other

No luck with COunterspy and Mcafee disabled. I had an error "fix unmountable

working before the error.

Any other ideas. Seems to be a registry problem of some sort.
