After a two-hour conversation with MSN Tech Support yesterday, a problem
affecting some Vista x64 rtm computers has been fixed. If you have had
problems installing MSN Premium 9.5 on Vista x64, try again. The problem
caused an error message 235 ("You are not connected to the internet...").

A second problem with XP systems (on only one of my machines) involved the
upgrade from 9.2 to 9.5. Following the upgrade the software experienced an
apphang (the MSN Premium sign in splash screen would freeze with the
butterfly flapping its wings). If you have this issue, there now is a fix
available. Open IE7 and paste
http://autoupdate.msn.com/fix95upgrade.hta
into the address bar and hit Go. The patcher will ask if you want to
install the fix. This will fix the apphang.

Hi Colin,

Has 9.5 for XP has been officially released? I am still using 9.2 and
haven't received any notice or I missed it.

Thanks.

Yes. You should have seen a notification on your screen a couple of weeks
ago that the software upgraded (automatically). I still have one XP Pro x64
system that seems to have upgraded the designer email (a new history pane
appears on the left) but not the MSN Explorer (which is still at 9.2). I
have a support request in. Of course you can save your local email store,
uninstall MSN, reboot, and reinstall from the web but you shouldn't have to.

Hi,

Thanks, and I should have mentioned, it is MSN Explorer that I am using is
9.2 version.

I was like you, talked to tech support a few weeks ago, concerning the
compatibility issue with Visa, and they told me (as you pointed out
previously) that the software is done but certain configurations remained to
be completed, and we should receive notice once all are set.

But thanks and I'll check the page.

PS: I actually don't use MSN Explorer much, but my wife likes to use, so
it's my job to keep her happy :)

MSN has always been "compatible" with Visa (and Mastercard, probably
american express and discover too).
