MSN Messenger

I use the latest version of MSN Messenger in a Computer with WinXP Home
Edition. I have a problem with it. I can't open it because when i try to, it
shows the "Preparing to install" window. then, after all the waiting, another
window says "An error occured during the installation of assembly component
{874793FC-5F43-496A-8FE7-18C4DB9B143D}. HRESULT: -2147024864" and after i
click ok another window comes out saying "Fatal error during installation"
I tried uninstalling it to reinstall it but same thing happens and it
rolls back the uninstall process. Please help me out
 
MSN messenger shouldnt be installed via a downloaded version of messenger,
you need to go to messengers home page,i believe its:http://messenger.micro
soft.com/ Then instead of downloading,run the file in "open mode" from the
site.You'll see the message at site.
