Msn messenger except for windows messenger does not work

I've been struggling to sign in to messenger for a long time. I've updated it
to Windows live messenger but it does not work too. Only windows messenger
version 5 seem to work.

[Windows Live messenger has encountered a problem and needs to be close.]
And then i get a long list of error report.

I'ver tried methods such as deleting the msn messenger folder but it does
not work too. Thanks for anyone's help.
 
I'm having the same problem. I've done virus scans, system restore, tried
everything, and nothing works.
