MSN 6 audio video converstion

I have a problem with audio/video converstions on msn messenger 6. The
video works fine and both sides can see each other, but the audio
doesn't work. Everytime i start it and the other end accepts, it
disconnects and ends straight away or after a 1 or 2 seconds. The
audio/video tuning wizard was ran on both ends with no error messages
and there are no firewalls on both ends, but the problem did not go
away. What else could be causing this? Both ends have had successful
audio/video conversations with others people before. I can't seem to
find answers on other posts so im making a new post.

At the moment you seem to have joined a large group who have the same
problem, just as I have. It is frustrating to see the only offers of help,
well meaning all, producing absolutely no results. Whatever the cause, the
problem is a real one.

Hi,
I am not sure which SP2 you are referring to. I am on XP home, and have no
SP2 in my recent updates. I have only Windows Media and Security updates. My
brother in the UK has Win ME and does little updating. We were OK through
Messenger 5, using Net Meeting. Video with Messenger 6 is fine, but Audio
does not connect. Strangely, his version of 6, (for ME), allows access to
Net Meeting, but mine does not.

Hi ed,
Thanks for that comment...that maybe the problem but im not sure since
i have already installed the sp2 patches before i installed MSN6...and
as an additional note to my previous post, in addition to no firewall,
i have no router as well, only a direct connection to the internet
with my own IP address, not shared.
