I have a recurring problem with passport that keeps popping up a
dialogue box asking me for my password. I tried every fix out there
without success.
I was successfull in stopping this problem when I disable microsoft
messenger from running on startup or trigger by outlook. Yet some
application keeps re-activting MSMSG.EXE (causing my passport problem
again).
I have my option set in outlook not to run messenger
Can anyone tell me what common windows processes have the ability to
re-active msmsg.exe? Is there a fix to prevent this?

Hi,

Start here:

Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2. Advanced/Manage
Passwords/Remove.

Tip:

Add Control Userpasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

If you don't need the messenger AT ALL, just rename it (under
c:\programs\...).
So no prog can start it remotely; BUT YOU can start it, if you really want.
