I have a message comming up when I open my email as follows.

MsMpEng.exe please insert disk into drive \Device\HardDisk1\DR1. I have also
another computer that has the same thing and it comes up at any moment.

I read it's something about Windows defender but I'm not sure about it. I
run Win2000 in both computers.
Thank you for your help.

Windows Defender is now out of beta and a new version is available. Install
the new version and see if the problem still exist.

Thank you for your quick answer JS. I just had the people on the computers
(I'm kind of far away from where they are) and they are telling me that the
new version is only for Win XP SP2 and they have Win 2000.

Is there anything else that they can do about it?
thank you again for your help. I really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, but Windows Defender is not support in Win2k. Your users
should uninstall it and use something else.

Malke, I'm trying to unistall Windows defender as you suggested and I get the
following error message:
"Error 1324: The folder path 'My Pictures' contains an invalid character"

do you have any ideas how I can get rid of this message? It won't let me
unistall it.

thank you for your help.
