MSI KT266 pro2 ?

i have the above motherboard which supposedly can support
my XP-1800+ cpu

with the bus set to 133 and the cpu settings on auto
when it boots up i get 1000mhz *some* of the time
and other times 1200 mhz

but i cannot seem to get any more
thus far i;ve tried setting the cpu to a few manual settings
but the system won't boot and i am forced to reset the bios

the on-line manual i downloaded from the mfg has not been helpful

anyone know what i should try next?

after i posted ...
i tried on thing i had not thought of
i went into the cpu FSB overclocking setting

the lowest "overclocking" setting was 134/33.5
and now the freq reads 1550 while booting up
which seems right as the XP1800+ is supposed to run at 1533mhz

then i tried one setting higher 135/33.8
and the bios screen now identifies the cpu as an XP 1900+

so i'm still a bit confused as to the proper setting for the XP1800+ cpu

OK, there is must be some bug in the bios because when i went back to
auto...
it now detects the cpu correctly
also... originally there was *no* option in the bios to boot from cd
and now it has shown up...

i'll have to consider whether or not i should just leave things alone
or possibly reflash the bios
