Msgbox won't display unicode characters

i'm using Access2003 on WinXP.

i've got the unicode characters (in this case, chinese characters mixed with
english ) displaying in label captions, Tab Page captions, Form Captions but
i can't seem to get them to display using the Msgbox function. All i get
there is any english text and ? for any non english characters.

its not that its an Nvarchar field because it can display the english
characters from there...
and its not that the chinese language isn't installed because the other
controls display the mixed captions ok...

Any body conquered this problem before?

might i have to create my own Msgbox function???

any help there for that one???
