MSDN and ISO

When downloading a copy of XP from the MSDN subscription
site, for some reason MS delivers it in an ISO format.
They helpfully tell us that by using a third party
product, this ISO format material may be mounted as a
virtual disk.

This is true and the installation can begin... however
when the reboot time comes, control returns to the CD
without the interpreting program.

Has anyone one worked with this successfully. I've
attempted to copy the files from the virtual drive but
only get the original files from MS. I can't create a CD
that will install as a factory CD.

Also... does anyone have any idea why this material would
be made available in a form so cumbersome to use.

Thanks,

Are you sure you're burning the cd as an .iso image with something like
Nero? Most operating systems that are available for download are
provided as .iso's. Both Nero and Easy CD Creator have options to make
a cd from an .iso file. Create your cd this way and then just boot with
it.

You use a program that is capable of turning that .iso file into a usable
cd. You burn a cd from the iso file. Roxio or Nero cd burning programs can
do this, as well as many others. BTW - ISO is a world wide standard file
format.

What I do is burn the ISO image to a genuine CD. You can do that in
Nero (Recorder menu - Burn Image) or Easy CD Creator, or use ISORecorder
from
