Howdy,

I'm getting the error message "The procedure entry point
GetTextExentPointIX could not be located in the dynamic link Library
MSDART.DLL" every time I load Outlook 2003. I get this message a total
of six times. I updated to the latest MDAC (2.8) but to no avail. Any
help in fixing this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Cheers,
Rich

Well I solved my own problem and the error message is gone but I'm not
sure what happened.

When the error message first showed up I did a search for msdart.dll
on my computer and only one showed up in \windows\system32 (size and
date 124k 10/27/2003). I then downloaded a copy from
http://www.dll-files.com/. I renamed my old file. When I tried to move
the new file I received an error message that it already existed. I
then did a search and a second copy of msdart.dll showed up in my
\windows\system32 folder (size and date 140k 2/20/2003).

I then renamed the 140k version to try and retest the 124k version but
it wouldn't let me do it as it said it already existed. When I
searched again another copy of the 140k file was there. This seems to
be a self propagating dll.

Can someone explain what is happening?

Thank you

Dowload and install the latest version of MDAC from Microsoft.

I am having a similar problem with Outlook 2000 and I have installed the
latest version of MDAC from Microsoft. I am getting GetTextExtentPoint not
GetTextExtentPointIX. I only receive this message the first time after
restarting Windows XP. If I close Outlook and reopen it, I do not get the
message. Is this problem impacting any of the data in Outlook?

Thanks for your help.

Oops, that should say; "Reapply MDAC 2.8"

Thanks!
