I have been struggling with this for some time. the mscorwks.dll does not
load on my Vista Home Premium. Which means a lot of applications no longer
work. I think I probably happened after a Windows media update..:(
Now Acrobat, MS Office Accounting, etc... no longer start.

I have tried sfc /scannow - It did not report any errors.
Then I tried ngen update - which reported a bunch of errors (see below)
and also ngen install mscorwks.dll - which reported a error (see below)

first ngen attempt:

Now I'm stuck..I can not re-run the Vista SP1 and cannot find any update for
..Net v2.0 for Vista. Either of these would probably fix my problem I think.

Would installing Visual Studio or visual studio express help? The only other
option I know is recovery from the recovery partition of my PC. That's a last
resort I think.

Help please

Ngen is not a solution that's going to fix anything. Ngen is a .NET
optimization tool. So, I don't know what you were trying to do with ngen.

Thanks..Looks like a OS repair...which be a problem on a laptop with a
non-working display (I use a external monitor at all times).
