MsAccess data from Accpac Plus Data

Pauly

We would like to create an MsAccess.Mdb in office 2000 to obtain individual
table details from Accpac Plus in Dos (an accounting program)?

This Access data will be used for viewing and printing and not for
accounting purposes.

Can we receive any ideas or a sample database of how to do this?

Thank you

Mehran

Unless the manufacturers of Accpac Plus provide ODBC drivers to let you get
at the data from outside of the program, or they allow you export the data
into a format that Access understands (text, csv, dBase, xls, etc.), I think
you may be out of luck.
http://www.sageaccpac.com/products/options/odbclink/default.aspx implies
there is an ODBC driver available, but it doesn't specify whether it works
with Accpac Plus for DOS.

Incidentally, if you feel you need to post to more than one group (HINT:
it's seldom necessary), please have the courtesy to cross-post (send the one
message to all groups at once), rather than multi-post (send individual
messages to each group). In this way, all responses to your post will be
available together, regardless of what group the responder was in, and the
rest of us won't have to read your post multiple times. (It also uses fewer
server resources)

I see you're using Outlook Express. Click the "Newsgroups:" label to the
left of the box containing the name of the current newsgroup. That will open
a dialog that will let you add additional newsgroups to your post.

Note that it's generally consider to be A Bad Thing to cross-post to more
than about 2 or 3 newsgroups.

Thank you for your suggestion and duplicates will not happen again.

Accpac does supply ODBC drivers, but they do not work and the other software
demos I have tried from different vendors so far do not work.

Accpac can export ONE TABLE. in the format below, but all field names are
lost.

I will keep on looking.

Thank you
Mehran.
