MS03-039 (Q824146) - Generates errors and closes

I have a single (Win2K-SP2) system, out of roughly 5000,
on which the the Q824146 update fails with the following
error...
"Update.exe has generated errors and will close. An error
log is being generated."

This error also comes up if we apply the patch in 'safe
mode' and/or without commandline switches.

Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.

Hi Tim,

Can you identify anything different with this particular
system than the others that the instal worked fine on?
Does this have exactly the same software installed? Same
versions? What about hotfixes? Drivers? Any new
hardware on this one that's not on the older ones?

If you can provide some additional details, I'll be
someone up on this newsgroup might be able to provide
some ideas for you.
