MS Word 2007 (Windows) Compatibility with MAC

My son has MS Word 2007 for Windows. His school has MAC computers. Is there
a format available that is compatible with both so he can carry files back
and forth on a usb drive? Thanks

Do you know what word processing software is installed on the Macs and what
version? Microsoft Office products do come versions that run on Mac, so if
the Macs at his school have Word, then all he would have to do is make sure
he saved his Word files in the same version that is installed on the Macs at
his school.

There shouldn't be any problem at all; I've used older MacWord files
in Word2007 with almost no problems at all (the only problem was the
thing with commas inside equation fields). They open in Compatibility
Mode; presumably a Word2007 will work in Word2008 and vice versa. For
earlier Mac versions, use and save in Compatibility Mode.

I had the same thought but upon re-reading the OP, I'm wondering if the
question is about the compatibility of the USB drive as opposed to the file.

AFAIK, most Macs have no trouble reading a key drive formatted for Windows.
