MS Update fails on one item continuously

The Win XP (ASUS A7V600) automatic notification of updates continuously
advises to update. And, continuously it downloads and installs, but the
next update shows it is still on the list up updates to be added.
The update causing the problem is: Advanced Micro Devices processor software
update released on December 17 2002
Any ideas? /Thanks. Howard

Prevent Windows Update from prompting you to install a Hotfix
you know is already installed:
