MS-Query / Excel problem

I’ve got a very strange problem. I have a workbook (workflowsummary.xls)
that runs a query ((MSQRY32.EXE) against a workbook (Workflow.xls). The data
in the workflow.xls is contained in a named range “RangeAllData†and is
created daily from an external program that exports to Excel format.

This daily update has worked for weeks without a problem, and there have
been no changes to the query. However starting last week, the query updates
all but one column; “Need Airâ€. This column contains either blanks or a
numeric value and I can not query this column or preview the information in
it. I get no data and nothing to preview, even though there is data in the
column. I can not create a new query or open an existing query that shows
any of the values that ARE there. I’ve tried rearranging the data column
order (total of 46 columns)

Any ideas on what may be wrong and what I can do to fix this?

Instead of looking at your workbooks, I think the problem might be in the one
you are trying to query.

Have you checked the Excel sheet that is being created by the external
program? Have there been any changes in the external program - version
updates or anything? It sounds like the column named "Need Air" is no longer
recognized as a column. It could perhaps be because it is no longer in the
data range named "RangeAllData" in the created files, or that the column
header was changed so it no longer reads "Need Air" (has to be an exact match
- spacing is important too).
