MS Outlook and AOL port monitoring

Hello,

Situation: I am using AOL dialer for internet access so I can use MS
Outlook 2003 for my business e-mail. I am not using the AOL client, just the
log-in dialer for access to my DSL. I am able to receive mail through port
110 (default) just fine. AOL has stopped monitoring smtp port 25 (which is a
default port for mail). So now I cannot send any mail using my domain mail
through Network Solutions. I have gone around and around with Microsoft
(Outlook) and AOL (port issue) and Network Solutions (port issue). Does
anyone have any ideas before I go completely crazy?

Configuration: PC P4 2.66 Ghz/XP home/Office 2003/DSL connection/Norton
Firewall/AOL 9.0 Security Edition/AOL Dialer for Internet Access/and a
partridge in a pear tree!

I think that about covers it. Thank you in advance for the help.

If AOL does not permit its customer base to connect to 3rd party ISPs with
the intent of sending e-mail on port 25, then you need to contact the 3rd
party ISP to see if they will let you send mail thru them on a non-standard
port like 465 or 587.

I will give you a heads up that if the 3rd party ISP says yes to a
non-standard port, make sure that you have applied SP2 to Office 2003.
There are some fixes in SP2 that help Outlook send messages on non-standard
SMTP ports.
