Having searched the web exhastively and queried the
knowledge base, it seems nobody has ever linked the spell
check etc funtionality of Office to IE. Why is that? I
am sure it can't be too hard. The engine which does the
checking is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Proof\MSSPELL3.DLL but I don't know what calls it
to run.

Somebody must know the solution to such a simple
problem!!!!

If you want just a spell checker for IE, try this and see if it helps.

Internet Explorer Spell Checker
http://www.iespell.com/download.php

9x/NT/2K/XP with IE 5.0 or later. Adds spell checking to any browser text
box! Just right-click the text area and select "Check Spelling." (On
ordinary IE installs, you also get a toolbar button and a Tools menu item to
launch this. On branded browsers and shell overlays such as MyIE, you only
get the right-click option which, in any case, is the handiest.) Use it in
the AumHa Forums! By Sidney Chong. (Tip from William Ford, James Fisher,
Neil Rudish & Manny Carvalho.)

Hope this helps.

Jan :)

If there's a problem, it must be with your setup. You
normally don't get spell-checking in OE *unless* you have
Office installed and if it is installed, then OE will (or
should) use Office's spell-checking capabilities. (Well some
of them anyhow.)

What version of Office are you using? And does it do
spell-checking in Word?
