I'm having a hard time understanding why MS Office dialog box is comming up
Hyperlinking to a file in one of my own workgroup computers. I read that IE
Explorer has something to do with security settings for MS Office. This all
doesn't make to much since. Shell ing to the app then opening the file
shouldn't even prompt the dialog box. even worse is I cant set warnings to
off. From Previous post I agree that the Version and OS are all the same
should run perfectly. My question is where do I find the security setting for
MS Office 2003...Is it in IE Explorer?

The windows hyperlink follower thinks that the file is from outside.
this may be because of the form of the address ( dots in the address
tend to confuse it), or because you are missing a windows/IE update,
or because you have not set the address to be part of your trusted/
local zone.

MS takes the position that IE, and the hyperlinking libraries, are
part of Windows. So you change your trusted zone in IE, that is
to say in Windows, it affects all of Windows.

Here is the answer. doesnt matter what settings you have. macro level or
security options. An MVP from the office forum lead me to this article.

Method 1 worked for me.
