I was using ms access fine on a PC at work and since moving to another PC
(with all my appdata etc following me with my roaming profile) MS access
keeps on prompting me for a username and password even if I try to create a
new database.

I didn't have any problems before and can't work out what the problem is so
any suggestions from anybody?

Excell, word, powerpoint etc all seem to work fine and only access has any
problems.

The PC that you moved to has a different system.mdw file. If this is your
permanent PC, find the .mdw file from your other PC, and copy it to a safe
location on your new PC. Now open Access without a database, and click on
Tools ... Security then join the workgroup that you just imported.

thanks, all resolved now!

sorry, only partially followed your post as I couldn't remember what you had
written! :). I tried renaming it but was not able to resolve as it was
installed over the network and I couldn't get it to find a file that it
needed to repair the install so I just copied the file from the previous PC
and It worked straight away.
