I have a FE, BE DB in a share folder on a Windows XP computer. I made a copy
of the FE and placed it on a Windows 2000 computer, but when I run it, it
doesn't let me enter data. Any body has an idea what is the problem? The DB
is not password protected and there is no users and groups. The 2 computers
are on the network. I can see them. I use the same password when turning on
both computers.
Thank you for the help in advance

The user running the front-end must have full rights on the network
folder containing the back-end. Do you?

Do you have full permissions on the server folder? You need permissions to...

create files
edit files
delete files

Are you getting any error messages?

Thank you very much guys for your quick response. Sorry for being late, but I
posted the subject a little before 5pm MT and I am just checking the
responses.
The error messages that I get:
first when I run the FE from the W2000, it doesn't diplay the switchboard.
It hides it, so I go "Unhide" it from the Window menu. Then when I go to
enter data, it tells me "You cannot go to the specified record" (New record).

As for permissions I have another DB on a W2000 computer. This one has
groups and users. It can be accessed from 2 WXP computers after they enter my
user name and password to the W2000. I didn't give permissions to the share
folder to the users.
